AI readiness assessment · Self-check

AI readiness assessment: is your business ready for AI?

Twelve questions. No report.

Answer twelve yes, partly or no questions about strategy, data, processes, people, tools and risk. You’ll get a score out of 24, see which area holds you back, and what to do first. It takes about ten minutes, and your answers never leave your browser.

The check

Answer honestly. Partly counts.

01 · StrategyCan you name one or two business results you want AI to improve, such as cost per support ticket or time to send a quote?
02 · StrategyHas someone in leadership been given the job, and a budget, for AI?
03 · DataIs the information those uses need stored digitally, in systems you can get at?
04 · DataDo you trust that information enough to make decisions with it?
05 · ProcessesAre the processes you’d improve written down, or at least done the same way each time?
06 · ProcessesDo you measure them today, with a starting figure you could compare against?
07 · PeopleAre your people open to trying AI tools in their daily work?
08 · PeopleIs there someone with the time to lead the rollout and help others?
09 · ToolsDo you know which AI features your current software already includes?
10 · ToolsCan your main systems connect to other tools, through integrations or an API?
11 · RiskDo you have rules for what company or customer data may go into AI tools?
12 · RiskDo you know which privacy and industry rules apply to your data?

What the six areas mean

Why these six.

Most AI projects that stall do so for ordinary reasons: no clear goal, data nobody can reach, a process nobody measures, or a team that never adopts the tool. The six areas cover those, and they line up with established frameworks: Cisco’s AI Readiness Index scores companies on strategy, infrastructure, data, governance, talent and culture, and the NIST AI Risk Management Framework is built around governing, mapping, measuring and managing AI risk.

Strategy

A named result to improve, an owner, and a budget.

Data

The information the use needs, digital, reachable and trustworthy.

Processes

A repeatable way of working, with a starting figure to beat.

People

Willing users, and someone with time to lead the change.

Tools

What you already own, and whether your systems connect.

Risk

Rules for data in AI tools, and the regulations that apply.

Questions

Frequently asked

What is an AI readiness assessment?

A check of whether a business has what it needs to get value from AI: clear goals, usable data, measurable processes, willing people, suitable tools, and rules for risk.

How long does it take?

About ten minutes for this self-check.

What happens to my answers?

Nothing. The score is worked out in your browser, and nothing is sent or stored.

What does a low score mean?

Not that you should avoid AI. It shows what to fix first, and that’s often something small, like measuring a process before automating it.

Can you run a fuller assessment with our team?

Yes. We go through the same six areas with your leadership team and turn the answers into one or two uses with a measurable target. You get decisions, not a long report. See AI consulting.
