We're a team of consultants who've been around the block — years of work across every kind of industry and every kind of client, from companies on the stock market to the smaller operator around the corner. Our rule has always been simple: you come out better than when we came in.
Along the way we kept seeing the same thing. Companies pouring money into expensive consultants, big analytics, thick reports — and not actually getting much done. We got tired of watching companies get analyzed to death instead of helped. So we built ActUpon around doing the opposite: find the few simple things that matter, and go get them done.
We also got tired of how consulting gets paid. Everyone charges by the hour — $100, $500, $1,000 — with no guarantee of results, collected from day one regardless of outcome. So we flipped it. If we're as good as we say we are, we should get paid on results. We still do normal retainers and pay-by-the-hour work for coaching and mentoring — but on performance engagements, we get paid when the number moves, not before.
